An origami house is a fun project for children who are just learning the basics of paper folding. These miniature paper model houses can be used to create scenes for Lego people or other small figures. They can be folded with any size of square paper, although the house in this tutorial was created using 6x6 origami paper.
This house is based on the Origami House model found at Origami-Instructions.com.
Place your origami paper with the side you want to use for your house on the bottom. Paper with a subtle pattern or a solid color is the best choice for this project. Valley fold the paper in half, and then unfold it to reveal your center crease.
Fold the top and bottom sides of the paper up to the center crease.
Fold the paper in half.
Open the paper and flip it over. Fold the left and right sides to the center.
Squash fold the corners to make two triangles.
Flip your paper over and use a marker to draw doors, windows, and other desired details on your house. Fold the back flaps out to stand your house up. If you want to make a bigger house, fold two models and tape the sides together.
